Mary-Alice Arthur developed and launched the concept of Event Tourism and initiated and managed the internationally recognised KiwiHost customer service programme over its first five years.

Arriving in New Zealand in late 1983, Mary-Alice worked with Ogilvy and Mather Advertising and then the New Zealand Wool Board. From 1987 to 1995 at the New Zealand Tourism Board she pioneered national initiatives which impacted on international perceptions of New Zealand. She developed and launched the concept of Event Tourism and initiated and managed the internationally recognised KiwiHost customer service programme over its first five years. Through these initiatives, she gained a national reputation for her innovative approach and ability to create and encourage long range vision. Since 1996 she has been a consultant and facilitator. The ability to help others move to the heart of any matter and quickly see the issues and opportunities in a clear, concise manner is one of Mary-Alice’s key skills. Whether working with corporate participants in team building, with young people on life skills, or with a conference audience, her warm and professional approach is combined with her ability to create environments that support both learning and sustainable change. She facilitates inspired change and uses innovative processes for and moving to new levels. Groups often comment on Mary-Alice’s vibrant energy and personal touch that includes and encourages audiences. She can speak on a variety of topics ranging from life direction to business issues and motivation. She builds frameworks for important messages or moods, creating the results you need, and inspiring new views and unique approaches. Her work galvanises groups into reflection, synthesis and action. Encouraging individuals, groups and organisations to cultivate unique vision and tangible tools is Mary-Alice’s mission as a coach. She has worked with organisations on creativity, with chief executives on using vision and values to shift their organisations, with project teams on full system change and with individuals on interpersonal skills. She works to the participant’s highest potential. Her aim is to create foundations for success. Creating success these days demands a new view, a new way of looking for opportunities.
