Richard Eriwata

Richard Eriwata is a talented singer, musician, corporate entertainer and master of ceremonies - MC. Richard also does a great Tom Jones tribute show.

Became a household name as one of the "Twelve Bar Rhythm and Shoes" stars, but now makes his living as a singer, corporate entertainer and master of ceremonies.

In a career spanning more than 20 years, Richard Eriwata is recognised as one of New Zealand’s finest Singer/Entertainers. Richard is an exciting, all round live performing entertainer who delivers the voice, the looks, the charm and stage presence that pleases the crowd at any occasion. Richard has his own four piece band called “Men in Black” and plays a great mixture of music from the 70’s to today. Richard is cheeky and has lots of fun and great interaction with audiences.

Richard’s solo career started when as a singer in a band, was chosen from an audition of over 650 people throughout New Zealand to appear in a new television entertainment show called “Twelve Bar Rhythm and Shoes”. The TV series proved very popular and ran for three consecutive series.

In recognition of his achievements in the New Zealand Music Industry, Richard has received a number of awards including “Rising Star of the Year”, “Male Vocalist of the Year”, “Performer of the Year”, “Record of the Year”, Christmas Radio “Presenter of the Year”.

The following year he ended up fronting his own TV series called “Richard Eriwata – Te Wairua”, an upbeat fast paced entertainment show that saw Richard singing a great selection of pop, RnB, funk, jazz and blues songs.

Richard is a regular performer at Sky City and has also featured as a main ensemble singers at Christmas in the Park Auckland and Christchurch. He has also been Master of Ceremonies at a number of corporate events in recent years. He performs at various corporate functions with his live band ‘Emales’. He has also produced a special tribute to Tom Jones.
