Peter Robinson once he had the grand title of European Editor, but today he is described as a Senior Contributor to Wheels magazine or, if you prefer, ‘International Motoring Journalist’.

Peter Robinson once he had the grand title of European Editor, but today he is described as a Senior Contributor to Wheels magazine or, if you prefer, ‘International Motoring Journalist’.

Peter was born in Melbourne, Australia on April 4, 1944. In early 1962 he became a cadet journalist with a small Melbourne based magazine company that published Motor Manual. He then moved to Australian Motor Sports and Automobiles in 1966 as Deputy Editor. He was appointed Editor of Wheels in February 1971. He stood down as Editor in 1987 to become Editor-at-Large.

Peter moved to Italy in late 1988 to take up the position of European Editor of Autocar magazine - the UK weekly and at 110, the oldest motoring magazine in the world and worked there until 2004. He contributed to Car & Driver (USA), Car Graphic (Japan), AutoPista (Spain), Quattroroute (Italy) and the 13 international editions of Autocar. He has always had a bias towards design and designers and has a long experience in the industry.

Peter returned to Australia in early 2005 to write a book. He has spent the past 8 months writing a book which is now with the publisher and due to be released at the end of the year.

He continues to freelance for Autocar, Wheels, Car & Driver and Motor Trend Classic.
