Bruce Couper

Bruce is NZ’s most sought after presenter on security related topics.

Bruce is the Strategic Manager for Paragon Risk Ltd, formerly known as The Investigation Bureau. Since leaving the CIB in 1988 Bruce has played a leading role in the security and investigation sectors in New Zealand. Between 1991 & 2002 he grew his own company to be the foremost provider of security site management and corporate investigative services in the country. His humourous and energetic delivery style combined with his in depth knowledge of the issues enable him to give the real story as it relates to New Zealand Businesses. He has an interesting range of topics from retail security to pre-employment vetting, white collar crime, personal safety, loss prevention etc etc.

Bruce started his career in the NZ Police. After 11 years service, the last three of those in the Criminal Intelligence Branch, he left the Police and spent two years in sales, before founding his own security consultancy in 1991 with a vision of creating a corporate security consultancy which set a new standard in security management in New Zealand.

Bruce has ncentrated on managing key clients and developing new business opportunities. He also spends a significant amount of time delivering keynote presentations on corporate security, safety, loss prevention and fraud.

From an early stage, Bruce has been extensively involved in advancing the security industry in New Zealand. He is currently on the National Executive of the NZSA (New Zealand Security Association). He is also an Assistant Regional Vice President of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) in Region 40 (Australasia). Bruce is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a Member of the National Executive of the New Zealand Security Association.
