April Ieremia, a former New Zealand netballer, is probably best known for her award winning role as sports presenter on TVNZ's Network News and co-presenter of TVNZ's Sports Night. Her debut to television was in 1990 when she fronted the World Youth Festival with Natalie Brunt. In 1993 April was selected is co-presenter, with Greg Clarke, for Moro Sports Extra. Her success in this role resulted in her joining TVNZ's Network News as a sports presenter.
Born in Apia, Western Samoa, April is a teacher by profession. In 1993 April presented a video called "Rising to the Challenge" which was part of a school resource kit based on the ECNZ Celebration series for Suffrage Year. April strongly supports the video's theme - "Encouraging children to think about taking the challenges and opportunities in life" and is an excellent role model. She also has hosted her own programme, April’s Angels, which was a community oriented programme completing projects for charity and the community. She appeared on 2006's Celebrity Treasure Island, 2007's Dancing with the Stars and recently on the Living Channel with Living with April.
With her natural presentation style and warm personality, April appeals to a wide range of audiences, both as a speaker and MC.
