Brian Edwards

Brian is well known for his various roles in a wide range of media including radio and television.

Brian Edwards has been an intellectual provocateur since he first came to prominence on New Zealand television in the sixties. He is a broadcaster probably best known for his National Radio’s “Top of the Morning” show, is an author and was host of the TV Show ‘Give us a Clue’. Brian now runs a media-training consultancy with his wife, writer Judy Callingham and was the author of Prime Minister Helen Clark’s book.

Best known for his role as host of National Radio’s Top of the Morning programme, Brian’s entrée into television in the late 60’s, or more particular his interviewing style, polarised people and made him a household name almost overnight.

Brian left television in 1970 and wrote a best selling book “The Public Eye” about his experiences on television and then worked for a trade union, stood unsuccessfully for Parliament, taught secondary school, became a radio talk-back host and returned to the small screen in 1975 with his own show “Edwards on Saturday.”

Two years later he devised the consumer programme “Fair Go” which he alternatively hosted and produced for eight years. For two years he entertained readers of the Dominion Sunday Times with his weekly columns. In 1989 he produced and presented the first series of the new television programme “Missing” and hosted the “Give Us A Clue” game show on TV3. Brian is a prolific writer and is the author of a number of books and has written many columns in various publications over the years.

Together with his wife Judy Callingham, Brian now runs a media training and communications consultancy and is able to offer a selection of interview and public speaking presentations that can be tailored to suit any conference or seminar.
